At The Samaritans of Rhode Island – we believe in hope!

As we slowly emerge from these trying two years, and look forward to the new year, the role of our volunteers who answer calls from the isolated and alone, the hopeless and yes even the suicidal has more meaning than ever. And,in spite of so many obstacles faced daily, no one involved with SAMSRI – our board, staff and volunteers – has given up!

Announcing our first-time ever “Cross the Bridge to Hope” at the Pell Bridge Run Grand Marshals!

Throughout the pandemic, one of the major initiatives we are supporting, with all the help we can give, is the grassroots work of 40-year SAMS volunteer Bryan Ganley and that of Melissa Cotta, both impacted by suicides from our bridges over Narragansett Bay. Their efforts, to have physical barriers erected on the Mt. Hope, Pell, Jamestown bridges, has been nothing short of brave and historic. Forming “Bridging the Gap for Safety and Healing” has given a voice to the voiceless – on behalf of those lost and those left behind by loses from our bridges. The online petition of more than 3,500 signatures to date bears witness that we as a state should, once and for all, end these preventable tragedies. This year, we have named Bryan and Melissa our first ever Grand Marshals leading the way at the 2021 “Cross the Bridge to Hope” at the 2021 Pell Bridge Run!

All of our advocacy and free programs can’t happen without donor support!

Today, we are asking a few of our key partners to rally their friends, family, and networks to support our work. By becoming a fundraiser for THE SAMARITANS INC, you will ensure that we can “Cross the Bridge to Hope” together – Rhode Islanders helping Rhode Islanders!

Please note: 100% of all donations to The Samaritans benefits our Rhode Island charity and the local economy.

Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it’s fun. We’ll even give you all the tools you’ll need to make a difference. With your help we can continue our life saving work!

If you would rather make a donation by check: Please mail to: The Samaritans of RI, P.O. Box 9086 Providence RI 02940
